Poker Squares
Poker Squares is a classic MS-DOS puzzle game that combines elements of Solitaire with poker. The goal is to arrange a standard 52-card deck onto a 5x5 grid to form the best possible poker hands in each row and column. Cards are dealt one at a time, and you must decide where to place each card on the grid. Once a card is placed, it cannot be moved. After all 25 squares are filled, the game scores each of the ten hands (five horizontal rows and five vertical columns) based on traditional poker hand rankings. Points are awarded for pairs, two pairs, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, and straight flush. The challenge lies in strategically placing each card to maximize your total score, balancing the potential for strong hands in multiple directions. It requires careful planning and a bit of luck to achieve a high score.
